"Choice should be about soup or salad, not life or death"

Quote of the last 4 decades, as far as I'm concerned.

SOW Gets Its Fat Trimmed

Among the happy items just announced by the Canadian government is the fact that Status of Women Canada (SOW) will be receiving $5 million less out of a $23 million budget. It feels like a first step, but a tremendously-welcome one that makes it thinkable to yank away the rest of the funding for this virulently leftist organization. To be a free and equal society, Canada needs to start by leveling the playing field among its citizens (and their organizations) - there is no place for the government to institutionalize preferential treatment of one 'official' view of women's aspirations.

In equally-happy news, apparently the Court Challenges program has also been scrapped - a program designed and funded to push through activist agendas through the Canadian Court system on the public dime. How outrageous that, again, a leftist agenda has been foisted on Canadians. What does it say that they can't properly get their issues debated and voted through Parliament, and then malign those who attempt to work through Parliament to undo the damage they've inflicted through the courts?

Thanks to a Canadian government with some sense.
